Equipment Engineer (Junior)
Responsibilities
Applies and demonstrates sound engineering and design principles
Travels to wellsite to observe and evaluate equipment performance with the supervision of a senior team member
Steps onto the shop floor to provide support to operations, maintenance, fabrication and engineering teams
Utilizes tools to assemble and disassemble equipment as needed in a field and shop environment
Performs engineering hand calculations
Conducts cost analyzes on designs
Conducts and analyzes designs with the aid of 3D modeling software
Produces technical documentation related to equipment and design and processes, including drawings for fabrication, drawings for assembly, bill of materials, etc.
Prepares equipment manuals as well as testing specifications and procedures
Manages a library with a large amount of files
Assists with testing equipment and analyzing technical data
Takes the lead on equipment tests and provides guidance and support to testing personnel
Sizes components based on equipment requirements and calculations
Communicates with 3 rd party suppliers to verify specifications and availability of components
Communicates with supply chain teams to maintain up to date timelines for project components and materials
Manages workload to ensure timely, efficient, and effective completion of assigned projects and tasks
Reports daily to senior members to provide updates on status of tasks
Promotes a safe workplace, follows safety standards at all times, and complies with statutory regulations and organizational safety requirements
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with colleagues while exhibiting good communication and flow of information
Attends trainings, seminars, certification courses, etc. outside of working hours to meet the requirements of the Professional Development Plan set forth by the employee, senior members, and manager
Must follow BJ Services code of conduct at all times
Requirements
Bachelor Degree in engineering or equivalent (Mechanical, Electrical and Petroleum)
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities on a daily basis
Strong attention to details
Able to climb ladders and stairs on equipment
Able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Working outside of normal working hours (i.e. nights, weekends, holidays) when required
Self-starter; willing to train oneself independently and procure resources for training
Proficiency in 3D modeling software is an asset
Proficiency in programming logic and prior use of programming language other than Visual Basic is an asset
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite aptitude with Visual Basic programming language is preferred
Ability to communicate ideas to a wide array of audiences
