Brief Posting

Coordinate the economic and reservoir evaluation of existing assets, and actively participate in the development and execution of investment opportunities.

Detailed Description

  • Collaborate with Geologists, Landmen and other engineering disciplines to identify and evaluate technical and economic merits of new investment opportunities.

  • Develop new/novel concepts in understanding unconventional reservoir performance and deliver the technology to the business units to increase value.

  • Develop new/novel reservoir engineering concepts to improve the performance of reservoirs. Provide performance prediction including reservoir simulation at both the well scale and full-field scale.

  • Conduct internal reserve and economic evaluation of acquisition, exploration, drilling, recompletion, and workover opportunities utilizing appropriate economic and engineering applications.

  • Develop and ensure timely execution of field exploitation plans for existing assets.

  • Utilize surveillance tools to monitor production and injection performance; make recommendations as necessary to maximize value/efficiency.

  • Recommend necessary cased hole logs and/or surveys to monitor production and assist in recomplete/workover/flow optimization recommendations.

  • Complete budgeting, forecasting, and reserve/economic analysis for year-end reserve reporting on existing assets.

  • Mentoring of less experienced engineers and technicians.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Engineering, preferably Petroleum Engineering.

  • 10 years of industry experience in: Reservoir Engineering, well performance analysis, reserve estimation and economic/risk analysis, including some recent experience with in tight/shale resource play quantification.

  • Experience in the asset development of unconventional (horizontal) resource plays.

  • The employee must be self-directed and capable of working in a team environment along with other engineers and geoscientists.

  • Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and efficiently prioritize work to meet deadlines.

  • Adept at interaction with a variety of contacts, internal and external, including management and industry partners to identify and implement advanced reservoir engineering technologies.

  • Knowledgeable of SEC reserve reporting guidelines and their application.

  • Proficient in IHS Harmony, Eclipse or CMG simulation software, ARIES, Spotfire, MS Excel, MS Access, and standard evaluation software.
