SOUTHWEST RESEARCH INSTITUTE TECHNICIAN - SR. TECHNICIAN - MECHANICAL in SAN ANTONIO, Texas
Primary duties include performing standardized tests in the automotive and aviation filtration labs, coolant testing, minor facility maintenance, monitoring facility operations, documenting test results, compiling and reporting test results, working with project managers to improve lab operation, hosting clients during testing, helping to plan and coordinate projects, summarizing test data and helping prepare written reports, interacting with technical and professional staff. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 1-5 years experience. Basic knowledge of mechanical tools, proficiency in MS office applications (Word and Excel), and computer operations is required. Must be a strong self-starter, organized, able to work well with others, able to multi-task between different projects and work independently with minimal supervision. General understanding of liquid filtration is a plus; basic knowledge of mechanical tools; familiarity with SAE, ISO, and ASTM methods a plus; knowledge of petroleum-related testing a plus. Shift work required. Must pass SwRI Mechanical Assessment test. A valid/clear driver's license is required. Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR work in section.
