Tesoro’s Rotational Development Program (RDP) offers you practical, hands-on experience and training that will provide the opportunity for growth, learning and development within the Refining and Marketing industry. This 3-year rotation program, designed to attract, develop and retain talent within Tesoro’s High-Performing Culture, offers:
An immersion program
Three 12-month rotations
Upon start, you will participate in an Immersion Program consisting of:
Training: Organizational/industry overview; introduction to the High-Performing Culture; relevant processes, procedures and systems
Job Shadow: Business unit exposure and engagement; basic skills training; networking
You will complete three 12-month rotations, focused on challenging work, within a designated program Track:*
Finance Track Rotations*
Business Planning & Analysis
Trading Controls / Risk Management
PERFORMANCE DRIVEN GROWTH*
You will be consistently evaluated throughout the duration of the program and will engage in goal setting and performance feedback discussions per rotation. You will be assigned to your first rotation following completion of the Immersion Program. A Steering Committee, representative of Business Unit leadership, will determine subsequent rotations based on your aptitude, on-the-job performance, career aspirations and business need. You may advance within your designated program track and/or cross-functionally between complimentary tracks.
To promote diversity in experience, you will not necessarily have the same rotation experience as other employees within the RDP. Following successful completion of the 3-year rotation program, a Steering Committee will assess your overall performance to inform placement into a role aligning your skills and professional interests with business needs. Participation in the Rotational Development Program
requires a three-year commitment and does not allow for voluntary exit out of the program in order to fully benefit from the opportunity for growth, cross-functional learning and development.
EDUCATION* and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance or a relevant field is required.
Minimum GPA: 3.0
Minimum 0-1 year relevant internship or work experience.
Skills & Capabilities
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Team player; demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse talent at varying levels of experience
Strong analytical skills and proven attention to detail; problem-solver
Flexible; adapts well to change
Effective time management and organization; resourceful
Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
WHERE YOU’LL WORK
While most rotations in year one and year two will occur in San Antonio, Texas, you may have the opportunity to complete a third year rotation at one of Tesoro’s six refineries. Currently, only our Seattle and Los Angeles area refineries offer this option.
