We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Technical Superintendent with our Chemical Manufacturing Facility located in Gregory, Texas. Essential Job Duties: • Maintains protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products, as our highest priority. • Assigns projects and priorities for completion by process and DCS engineers and supervises these employees. Monitors and directs process engineering efforts to ensure successful and timely completion of such projects. • Evaluates and recommends process improvements. • Monitors variable efficiencies and fixed utility usages. Drives projects to improve the efficiencies. • Oversees the Management of Change Process. Reviews and approves appropriate change documents. • Acts as Technical Steward for the process. Ensures the adherence of necessary industry best practices. Ensures technical "know-how" is communicated throughout the organization. • Acts as a trouble-shooting resource for the operations supervision. Offers technical ability and methodologies for problem solving. • Oversees incident investigations and release/maintenance emission calculations as required. Remains current on environmental permits and regulations. • Leads the efforts on Alarm Management. • Oversees the annual TRI Calculations for the environmental department. • Interviews engineering applicants as required to determine technical capabilities and suitability for employment and placement within the OxyChem organization.
*LI-MN1 • B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering. • 5 years of plant process engineering experience. • Good written and oral communication skills. • Good knowledge of plant process systems, regulations, and policies. • Good leadership and command skills. • High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) • Ability to read, write and speak in English • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team. • Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis. • Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
