Pilot Thomas Logistics Environmental Compliance Manager (Fort Worth, Oklahoma City, or San Antonio) in Fort Worth, Texas

Position Overview

This position will manage and be responsible for company environmental affairs and duties associated with the Operations of the company to include: permits, registrations, reporting, inspection, investigation, monitoring, planning, and ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulation, and company expectations in regard to environmental stewardship.


  • Develop and implement environmental plans based on industry best practices, environmental regulation, and company expectations as a leader in environmental stewardship
  • Maintain environmental policies and procedures and provide technical/regulatory advice to Operations
  • Establish effective environmentally responsible programs, systems, and training methods to communicate and enforce established company expectations and regulatory mandates
  • Provide support and manage environmental compliance related to Company AST/UST assets
  • Manage industrial waste streams generated by Company ensuring proper recycling and disposal in accordance with regulation
  • Perform evaluations and assessments to ensure facilities are managed in an environmental professional manner
  • Ensure required permits, registrations, reports, and other environmental related documents are maintained with accuracy and accessibility
  • Conduct thorough environmental contractor evaluations to minimize risks and increase efficiencies
  • Participate in department budget planning and development to ensure appropriate expenditures and cost-benefit
  • Maintain a facility and tank registration/permit program to ensure all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, codes, and requirements are met to include updating tank ownership, facility changes, or other technical data management
  • Oversee and manage all correspondence and communication with Federal, State, or local enforcement agencies
  • Manage applicable state public water system environmental requirements
  • Complete annual petroleum storage tank funds documentation for required states
  • Ensure all applicable Company facilities have up to date SPCC/SWPP Plans as well as other environmental permits as required
  • Responsible for annual TIER II and TRI Submission
  • Coordinate with Risk Management on all environmental related claims
  • Work closely within EH&S; Department to address field environmental compliance

Specific Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science discipline or equivalent education - preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' experience preferred in Oil & Gas industry and/or Transportation
  • Strong knowledge of EPA, State, and local environmental regulation
  • Computer and smart device proficiency skills required
  • Requires up to 50-75% travel including overnight stays
  • Must provide own transportation meeting Company requirements. Company provides a vehicle expense reimbursement program for business travel (Runzheimer)
  • Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Must be able to walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, and climb, as required, in order to perform required duties
  • Occasionally climb ladders to inspect facilities and tanks
  • Must be able to lift as much as 25 lbs occasionally
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while driving
