We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Health Safety and Security (HSS) Manager with OxyChem located in Dallas, Texas.
Essential Job Duties:
Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products is our highest priority.
Develop, implement and lead HSS procedures for Silicate plants.
Provide consultation to plant leadership and hourly employee population to ensure governmental, corporate and divisional safety and health regulation/policy/procedure compliance
Act as Silicate plants safety and health liaison for Governmental Agency visits.
Lead all accident and incident investigations for the Silicate plants
Develop and report divisional metrics for safety and health programs and other key performance indicators.
Lead all OSHA VPP certification and recertification activity for the Silicate Division.
Provide HSS audit support to Corporate Audit program as required.
Responsible for developing or coordinating all instructor led and computer based training for silicate plants employee population including contractors.
Provide support to the OxyChem contractor selection process for all capital projects
Travel (40%) to support all US based silicate plants as needed
Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene or Related
Minimum of 5 years or relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong analytical/problem solving skills. High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, write and speak in English Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team. Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis. Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
Additional Desired Qualifications Good working knowledge of SAP Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
