This position entails the development and application of reservoir simulators for enhanced oil recovery for unconventional reservoir
Develop, implement, and apply compositional reservoir simulators for conventional and naturally and hydraulically fractured unconventional reservoirs. Also, work in development of a compositional wellbore simulator for flow assurance problems. Support and assist graduate students working on various reservoir simulation projects Assist in writing technical papers, reports, and proposals for possible funding.
Other related functions as assigned.
Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering. Experience working in petroleum engineering-related fields. Knowledgeable in the area of multiphase flow, phase behavior and thermodynamics for compositional reservoir simulators. Knowledgeable in miscible and immiscible gas flooding, CO2 EOR, and simulation of shale gas and tight oil reservoirs. Familiar with programming environments (FORTRAN and C++) to perform numerical simulation for fluid flow formulation, energy equation, and thermodynamic phase behavior calculations. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
