The Subsurface Well Data Management & Integration Specialist is a Houston-based member of the Data Management and Analytics (DMA) organization and a core part of the Subsurface Data Management team. This position will serve as the subject matter expert and integration specialist for subsurface well master data management (WMDM). Core responsibilities include maintenance of various subsurface data management integration processes and correcting the Data based on Data Quality Management (DQM) reports. This includes liaising with Data Advisors and System of Record (SOR) owners to identify, monitor critical well data into the WMDM, working on Data corrections and exception reports on scheduled basis and proposing enhancement to the implemented processes/business rules in order to increase the overall Well data Quality. This role will work liaise with data management lead to ensure Landmark R5000 and Petrel Studio databases are correctly updated with owned and competitor well data with established master framework. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Monitor, Support and Maintain established Well Data Management Framework for acceptable levels of data quality and report areas of non-compliance to System of Records (SOR) Owners and DMA-Data Management leadership • Monitor established Well Data Management processes and work on exception/correction reports on scheduled basis using Data Quality Standards • Work with Stakeholders/Data Advisors as per the DQM (Exceptions/Corrections) Reports, ensure data is corrected in System of Records (SOR’s) and then monitor InnerLogix transfers from Master Databases to OpenWorks and Petrel Studio ensuring data is correct in the project databases • Well Data Integration/enhancement of various well data Types into OpenWorks R5000 and Petrel Studio Repository using Data Management Tool (e.g. Schlumberger’s InnerLogix Suite of Applications) • Hands on experience in integrating Source System of Record data and attributes (EDM, TOW, OFM) in master data management framework using InnerLogix or similar industry standard DQM toolkit • Provide guidance and support for subsurface well master data management • Well data loading, validation and integration of WMDM data to project databases on demand basis • Participate in well master data management related projects Education • Bachelor of Science degree in Geoscience, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience • 5 years of experience managing oil and gas geoscience, drilling and engineering technical data preferred • 5 years of experience loading and managing well data in Landmark R5000, Petrel Studio or similar software Data Management • Advanced knowledge of well data generated during planning, drilling, logging and completion operations • Subject Matter Expert loading and validating well data including surface locations, elevation and elevation reference, and subsurface data like deviation surveys and north reference, tops and log curves • Excellent understanding of master data management concepts for technical data • Experience defining ETL / DQM business rules for data management toolkits like InnerLogix • Experience implementing and maintaining well master data management programs • Excellent knowledge of geodetics and units of measure used with well surface and subsurface data • Expertise with the Landmark R5000, EDM, Recall and Petrel/Studio highly desirable • Expertise with the Schlumberger’s InnerLogix Suit of applications highly desirable • Working knowledge of R5000 and Petrel Studio data model highly desirable • Expertise with InnerLogix or Landmark Data Quality Management tools or similar industry standard software • Experience using MS Office 2013 Behavioral • Ability to lead initiatives, project teams and influence stakeholder buy-in for major subsurface well data management related work programs • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills • Excellent leadership and organizational skills • Self-driven individual that can multi-task and deliver on commitments • Ability to lead projects and meet deliverables in alignment with time, budget and resource constraints • Open-minded with ability to identify new methodologies and technologies for managing technical data • Excellent team player that can work independently under minimal supervision when required • Ability to effectively manage vendors and build win-win relationships • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Occidental is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Individual with Disability/Veteran Status
