Ambitech is looking for a talented Operation Manager to manage Ambitech's Houston Office. Great opportunity put your blueprint on an office and help the office develop and grow.


  • The Operations Manager Engineering will establish his/her top level reporting structure. Normally this would include Project Managers, Engineering Manager/Department Managers (as applicable), and Q/C.

  • Assist Director of Operations to build and promote the growth of the office through successful project execution and sound client relationships.

  • Responsible for the execution of all aspects of the branch office including managing the staff, providing leadership, monitoring schedules and budgets for all projects, evaluating productivity and quality and directing the complete technical operations of the department.

  • Assist Director of Operations to develop and implement administrative, technical and corporate procedures and policies to ensure the successful operation of the office on a profitable basis.

  • Direct and manage the activities of the Department Managers and Project Managers in the planning, scheduling, cost control, design quality and execution of projects.

  • Assume full responsibility for the successful execution of all projects.

  • Build client relationships and coordinate with the client and project personnel. Build repeat business.

  • Build awareness and participate in the local community- all directed to insuring successful business and client relationships

  • Ensure the clients input and job requirements are adequately addressed and implemented consistently with the contractual requirements.

  • Work closely with Business Development on proposals, presentations and client contacts to assure the backlog is maintained for the office.

  • Implement policies and directions for the quality control of all engineering packages.

  • Plan and identify upcoming tasks, potential problem areas, and technical information and identify solutions where necessary.

  • Work with Director of Operations to maintain proper staff levels to meet office requirements. Actively recruit and train personnel for staff as necessary. Develop, coach and track employee skill level in technical and project management areas.

  • Work with Director of Operations for salary administration, performance evaluations, promotions and career development of all office personnel.

  • Minimize all overhead expense to that necessary for conducting successful operations

  • Expense costs and purchases with due diligence to utilization of company resources and available capital.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.


  • Overall understanding of business principles and project execution.

  • Analytical and creative problem solving skills, questioning/probing and feedback skills, project and time management skills.

  • Ability to clearly communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to independently organize and prioritize work assignments. Coordinate a variety of tasks with good attention to detail. Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and deadlines.


  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience and knowledge of engineering.

  • Approximately 5 years of management experience in petrochemical, petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical, food or related industries.
