Oasis Petroleum Midstream Accountant in Houston, Texas

Oasis Petroleum is seeking an experienced Accountant to support the continuing growth of Oasis Midstream Services (OMS), including the accounting functions for its gas processing plant and related gathering systems. The Accountant will be responsible for ensuring revenue and production information for oil, gas and water systems are recorded accurately and timely and needs to have a strong understanding of both the P&L and Balance Sheet. This position will report directly to the OMS Supervisor and is located in Houston, Texas. Level and salary commensurate with experience.

  • Prepare monthly journal entries for accounting close

  • Prepare monthly accruals for capital, operating expenses and revenue

  • Collect, analyze and compare data for monthly financial accrual meetings

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly reconciliations and analyses for GL accounts

  • Allocate gas plant production and prepare monthly settlement statements

  • Prepare monthly invoices and allocations for all product streams (oil, gas and water) and track payments

  • Assist in the preparation of FERC report filings

  • Monitor AFEs through workflow

  • Liaison between Accounts Payable and OMS Operations for coding questions

  • Work closely with all functions of Accounting, OMS Operations and Marketing

  • Maintain SOX compliance

  • Perform special projects as assigned/needed

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related degree

  • 3 years of accounting experience

  • Oil and gas accounting experience, specifically midstream exposure

  • Strong analytical and research skills and the ability to multitask and produce results under tight deadlines

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all areas of the organization

  • Team-oriented individual
