Position Summary Our internships provide opportunities to learn and apply engineering skills. We offer Phase 1 and Phase 2 internships to match the appropriate project to the experience level of the candidate. Our internships are utilized to evaluate the candidates' potential as possible future, full-time employees. Job performance will be reviewed periodically and appraised at the end of the internships. Successful candidates will receive diversified training through on-the-job assignments using the technical skills acquired in college. Assigned projects will develop the interns both technically and professionally. Each intern will be assigned a technical mentor and supervisor to ensure a productive and engaging assignment. Interns are typically matched to one of the Upstream disciplines including Reservoir, Production, Facilities, Drilling, Completions or Project Engineering. Within that discipline, the intern will be responsible for completing one or more projects during the summer. As an example, past projects have included developing improved forecasting techniques for unconventional reservoirs, artificial lift optimization, facility design modifications to improve air quality, drill bit design/selection, sand production mitigation and infrastructure benchmarking. The intern will work within established engineering and/or operations teams. Phase 1 Intern assignment locations include Anchorage Alaska, Watkins Colorado, Billings Montana, and Kenedy, Midland or Houston, Texas, and Watford City North Dakota. Interns in their last summer prior to graduation (Phase 2) will typically be assigned a project in Houston Texas or Anchorage Alaska. Qualifications: Basic/Required: Legally authorized to work in the United States Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering A minimum of ten (10) continuous weeks’ availability for internship Current level in college: Freshman through Senior or Graduate Student Expected graduation date: Fall 2018 through Spring/Fall 2021 Preferred: A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale Previous internships or co-ops in an energy related field Develop strong relationships based on trust and seeks opportunities to collaborate across the matrix/organizational boundaries to achieve business goals. Demonstrates taking ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by courageously dealing with important problems, holding others accountable and standing up for what is right.
