SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This Engineering Technician role provides critical petroleum engineering technical support associated with Acquisitions and Divestitures Group efforts which are focused on merger, acquisition, divestiture and capital markets assignments, as well as business development activity.

Responsible for technical evaluation of oil and gas assets, and reserve and economic analysis, including:

  • Evaluation of oil and gas reserves and upside

  • Building, running, and quality control of economic evaluations

  • Analysis of third-party economic evaluations

  • Drilling / development scenario planning, including development of associated capital, LOE and production profiles

  • Retrieval of critical production, capital, drilling and completion parameters from various state and industry platforms

  • Evaluation of capital variance and relationship to performance

  • Assist in building and working in virtual data rooms

  • Monitoring and analysis of industry activity

  • Attend and contribute to external project kick-off meetings as required

  • Assist in preparation of data rooms based on data supplied by client

  • Following up on questions from potential buyers

  • Assist with miscellaneous technical project related duties as required

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree

FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Extensive experience with reserves analysis and forecasting

  • Extensive experience with oil and gas economics

  • Strong computer and data management skills

  • Proficiency in IHS, Excel, Access, ARIES, PHDWin, Spotfire, etc.

  • Creating, manipulating and administering large databases

  • Evaluating and manipulating data required for evaluations

  • Identifying and assessing key oil and gas performance parameters

  • Seamlessly transitioning between projects on tight deadlines

  • Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to set priorities

  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime as required

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; collaborative with individuals and the team
